1974-75 - RICHARD JARREL - Tuba 

Member of the BYWO then moved to the US now living in Colorado. Plays across Rocky Mountain States including soloist with Rocky Mountain Brassworks and Woodland Park Wind Symphony. Published fly fishing journalist and outdoor writer.

1974-76
HUGH WALLIS
Tuba 

Moved to Canada in 1979 and now works as a computer consultant and still plays tuba in the Markham Band

1985-88
ANDREW WILLIAMSON
Baritone Sax

Now leads the well known group Big Buzzard Boogie Band- gigs all over the uk and  travels the world with his sax

1995- 99
IAN FOSTER
Tuba

Plays professionally CBSO Brass Explosion   English Symphony Orchestra   Freelance with Fine Arts Brass, CBSO and on trial with the Ulster Orchestra and now coaches the lower brass in the main orchestra.

1999
GEOFFREY SHOESMITH
Tuba

Canadian by birth, says his time with NYWO was a life altering experience with many fond memories, now in his penultimate year at McGill university in Montreal. 

1995-99
CARLA REES
Alto- Flute

Carla is now an Alto Flute specialist travels the world giving recitals, master classes and tutorials, she is much in demand as a teacher of the alto flute Very happily married to Mark and living in South London.

1997 -
ELIZABETH COULING - Principal Oboe / cor

Head Of Wind at the Dragon School. She has a busy teaching life and sends her promising pupils to NYWO Chamber music courses.
1994-1999
HANNAH MACKENZIE - Flute/Piccolo

Now living in London, Hannah works in the city as a Project Manager for a french investment bank. Whilst not playing her flute much these days, she keeps her musical eye in with her hobby as a club DJ.

Hannah is also the keeper of the NYWO website as a 'thank you to NYWO'.which is very much appreciated.

1993-1994

Alex Walter

Alto Sax

Happily married and working in the Netherlands. Alex is convinced that membership of NYWO makes a huge difference to peoples lives, he says the courses were such fun both musically and socially.  Would love to hear from ex members alex.walter@vodaphone.com

1988-1991

Christopher Mullin

Tenor Sax and clarinet

Travelled to flar flung corners of the world in recruitment and now manages a City based estate agents by Tower bridge in London.

Chris would like to know if anyone has a recording of the Robert Russell Bennett concerto for wind quintet and wind orchestra.

He seems to think it was performed in Newcastle, it was also broadcast by the BBC. If anyone has a copy would you contact Chris on chris@stirlingackroyd.com

1992-1997  
Simon Stewart 

Simon was principal saxophone in NYWO for a number of years and now has his own very successful sax quartet. Simon leads a very busy life freelancing and teaching at The Purcell School and coached the saxes in the main orchestra. 

1993-1996
Sarah Dumbrill

Flute

Sarah was principal flute of NYWO for several years and is now teaching in Hertfordshire and sending her pupils to NYWO.

1995-1997
Sophie Lermon
Clarinet

Sophie was in the orchestra from 1995-97 enjoyed her time with NYWO. Sophie is now a very busy lawyer  practising in Bristol. She would love to hear from any of the people she knew in NYWO

Victoria Robins
Clarinet

Victoria is now living back in the Midlands after spending time living in America and other interesting places, she now  leads a busy life as a commercial surveyor.

1996-2004
Christopher Gill
Bass Trombone

Christopher was a member of NYWO for some years and now works professionally in orchestras in Gran Canaria, Cyprus and Santiago. Chris's Curry Nights were a tradition amongst NYWO  Brass players.

Andrew Grand
1971-74
Euphonium

Andrew was a member of the orchestra as a euphonium player and remembers NYWO as a great experience. He then joined the Central Band of the Royal Air Force.

He now teaches brass for the Norfolk Music Services, he also conducts youth bands and orchestras and would love to hear from past players. andrew@grand8044.fsnet.co.uk

 Helen Southall          Now living in Chester and plays Bass clarinet and sax          nee   Terry                   in an assortment of contexts                   1986-87                     working on a Ph.D research project related to jazz and
